life"

Paula Scott’s work, though bordering on the surreal, is autobiographical,
reflecting her life’s journey, often using humor and metaphorical devices to
provoke further thought. Though initially self-taught, she has gained
recognition for her “musings,” recently earning a solo show at the
prestigious Two Rivers Gallery in Prince George, B.C., where she remains in
it’s public collection. This is her first show in the U.S. or in a private
gallery.

“These paintings overstate the reality that we’ve
experienced, often advancing into the realm of make believe,” said George
Broderick, artist and gallery founder. “We look forward to a show opening with
great music accompanying our quirky art.”

"Building Tops"
Oil/Canvas
42 X 52
George Broderick characterizes his oil painting style as
"hyperbolic reality" as the figures and colors are overstated. The
symbolism and color forms surrounding the figures define their environment,
consequently giving considerable complexity to the figure's character. “The
distortion reflects how the individuals think other people see them,” says
Broderick. He works in oil, frequently on large canvasses, using bold, intense,
and high-energy colors.
The Four Violas is comprised of Oregon Symphony musicians
Joel Belgigue, Mara Lise Gearman, Charles Noble and Brian Quincey. They are
offering the gallery performance as a dress rehearsal for their performance at
the International Viola Conference in Minneapolis, Minn. later this
summer.
