Stephen Freedman

Artist Stephen Freedman, of Kurtistown, Hawaii, has joined the Broderick Gallery
and two ceramic sculptures, Altered Form and Altered Form - Diptych, are currently on
view. A major show of his work is scheduled for February 2002.
A native of Pretoria, South Africa, Stephen Freedman received his training from
the University of West Australia. He emigrated to Los Angeles, CA in the 1980's and
settled in Kurtistown, HI 8 years ago.
Freedman's work is found in major museum collections both stateside and abroad.
Notable collections include the Los Angeles County Museum of Modern Art, the Getty Museum,
the American Craft Museum, the Mori Museum of American Ceramics in Japan and the Museum of
West Australia.
Stephen Freedman has completed a number of large-scale commissions for
corporations, public works projects and private collections including the Saks Fifth
Avenue Collection, Los Angeles Public Library System, Saigon Center, Vietnam, Mulia
Senayan, Indonesia, Ritz Carlton Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey, the Four Seasons Hotel, Kona, HI
and Grand Hyatt, Hong Kong.
