Jorge Luis Santos Lopez was born on june 2, 1973 in a
small town south of Havana, Cuba.
Santos is convinced of the power of art work as a transforming force, creating
new and unsuspected relationships. He believes this so strongly that he has
devoted his energy in the last two years toward the most orthodox lyrical
abstraction. He has led the abstractionist movement which has been gaining
momentum within the Cuban art community.
Santos was initially self-taught. Today he is looked on as one of the most
promising of young artists in Cuba, by both the public and the critics.
This is his first exhibition of work in the US.
