Thomas Yerxa

Thomas Yerxa is a nationally recognized painter represented in eight major museum
collections including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Philadelphia Museum.
Yerxa's work is also found in several major private and corporate collections of
American Art, the most notable being the Arco Corporate Collection and the private
collection of James A. Mitchner. As the recepient of a Cressson European scholarship
and a Tiffany grant, plus numerous prizes and purchase awards, Yerxa received national
recognition through juried participation in major national and regional exhibitions.
Born in Oakland, CA in 1923, Yerxa received his formal training at the Pennsylvania
Academy and the Barnes Foundation in Merion, Pennsylvania. Thomas Yerxa currently
resides in Portland, OR where he continues to paint and exhibit his fine oil paintings.
